April round-up

Can you spot Cloudburst, in the middle there? Their 3rd grade class had a little choir concert.  I love their music teacher.
We had a visit from Nana! And here we are at a new favorite hang-out: U-Swirl.  You fill up your cup with as much frozen yogurt and toppings as you want and pay by the ounce.  Complete control can be a dangerous thing.  We had some very interesting flavor combinations!
We went up to the cabin for a weekend too.  We tested out a new trail we put in for the kids to ride 4-wheelers or bikes.
Thunder had a church youth hike and took Sunshine with him.  They loved the breakfast and the view from the top.
And Sunshine playing soccer... that kid loves running around.

Happy Easter! for rizzle

This year for Easter we had a guest... yes a mysterious gift-bearing bunny, but also Grandma!  She was able to come out when my sisters came and stay for Easter.  We were home for Easter Sunday so we could go to church here (and I was feeling under the weather) and then headed up to the cabin during Easter break.  We saw gentle snow storms every morning that would melt by the afternoon.  It's so peaceful up at the cabin. I even wrote a song while up there.  All in all, a great Easter!

Jen & Mike

While Jen and Mike were in town, we took a few pictures.  I found a few great spots for pictures, and we waited for the sun to set to the perfect height.  They are so cute together!

Happy 30th Aunt Jen!

My younger sister is totally beautiful, smart, goofy and getting all grown up.  She turned 30 this year, and the fam and I arranged it with her fiance to give her a birthday she wouldn't forget!  Here in Utah! We took the kids out of school for the day and went up to the cabin.  Grandma, Aunt Allie, Aunt Jen and her fiance Mike were all here.  It was so fun to see everyone!
We took Jen out to Texas Roadhouse for a little birthday ride.
And my wonderful friends here threw her a bridal shower!  A really nice one!
Even cousin Whitney was able to come down.  We played a few naughty games and ate some great food.
They were here for just a few short days, but it was wonderful! We are excited for the wedding coming up in August!

Little Sahara

We love to travel for Conference. With Thunder being Bishop, it's hard to get away during the weekend. This time, we decided to check out Little Sahara. It's only an hour away and has awesome sand dunes to ride and play on. We went with the Hilds again and the very first night Thunder and R had work together to get both rhinos home after one had engine trouble.  The kids played, played and played some more digging holes, sliding down the hill on sleds and climbing up the few trees.  Since we went in April it wasn't too hot yet.  Definitely a place to visit again!

An Eggcellent April Fool's Day

This year April Fool's Day was on a Sunday during General Conference.  We always have Monkey Bread for breakfast, but this year it was green! It was not totally appetizing, but still tasted good.
Then for dinner, we had donuts (meatloaf with mashed potatoes on top), ice cream (mashed potatoes with caramel colored gravy).  For dessert we had a giant ostrich egg (yogurt with a sliced peach in the middle). I scream, you scream, we all scream for.... mashed potatoes!
