July round up

Thunder happened to be driving close to the mountains of Alpine when he noticed a small fire.  It ended up getting huge and took several days to put out, around the 4th of July.
Tornado had the unfortunate experience of having his eardrum rupture.
I gave blood!
We took a very special bike ride with our friends who had lost a baby earlier this year.  We all rode up to the cemetery and had a picnic lunch together.
I got the call to Young Women's and enjoyed our first activity- a giant slip'n'slide!
We had a few fun trips to Trafalga.
We went to the city fair in American Fork too... we got tickets in advance and it was 1/10 of the price there.
Ahhh, putting the kids to work.
On Sundays they kids like to experiment... this was actually pretty good.
We caught and cooked a fish from our own pond up at the cabin.
We took several trips to the cabin and had some friends up.
We took a fun tour of the JR Moyle home in Alpine.  He lost his legs, but made himself prosthetics and walked 20+ miles each week to work on the Salt Lake Temple.  He was famous for his work with stone.
We were practicing wedding hair for my sister's big day coming up in August!
We went to our first demolition derby.  Of course the kids loved it.

Cousin Camp part 2

Our cousins were here for 2 weeks, starting at the end of June.  So they were here for the 4th of July and all the fun city activities at the end of June.  We also took a few fun trips.  We played at Neptune Park...
... headed up to the cabin for a few days...
... and took lots of bike trips.  Everyone loves the skate park!
We were so impressed with our cousins when they were here with us.  Everyone got along very well.  Sunrise was a little pill sometimes but other than that it was a wonderful 2 weeks.  We want to make Cousin Camp a new tradition!

4th of July

We pretty much LOVE the 4th of July.  It's a wonderful feel-good holiday where the weather is warm, there are no presents, and we can just play and eat good food. We love to make a big deal about it and enjoy it with our neighbors every year.  Our neighborhood also has a bike parade and BBQ on July 2 to get it all started.

After the neighborhood shindig we started getting ready for our own party on the 4th.  We rented a monster this year!

Everyone brought food and it was mmmmmm delicious.

We had such a wonderful time with everyone!  And I didn't even sever a finger this year.

Cousin Camp 1

We got a call from Thunder's brother that his wife was entering emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction.  After figuring a few things out, Thunder's parents picked them up and we met them in St. George and they came home with us for a few weeks.  We called it Cousin Camp!  The first thing we did was watch the horse parade for Lehi City Days.
They were here for Riles's birthday so we had fun celebrating all together.
They had planned to go swimming so we just did that here!  Afterwords we ate cake.
They all got some matching summer jammies and socks.
And who can forget the day Thunder pulled out his old lasso that he got on his mission?  They were running pretty fast.
