4th of July with Nana and Papa!

We had a typical beginning to the week- Tornado's gym, Cloudburst's violin and piano, and Sunshine's piano too.  We got our carpets and tile cleaned on Monday, YW on Tuesday... and then Wednesday the fun started!  Nana and Papa arrived from California.  The boys all got some slick haircuts, which we dyed blue on July 4th.  We love love July 4th and celebrate with a big party.  We got some great blow-ups this year and invited all the neighbors we thought we could fit.  We grilled hot dogs and had pulled pork, and everyone brought sides to share.  It was awesome!  The food was great and friends even better.

We started a tradition last year to have a obstacle course race with even the adults participating.  Everyone loved it so we did it again. I went first for the women's division, had a killer time that beat most of the men....... but twisted my ankle at the very end.  So I didn't get to move on to the finals.  Bummer.  But actually the kids beat pretty much all the adults.  It was so fun.  Later that night we lit off fireworks and got eaten alive by some grateful mosquitoes. It was so fun to have Nana and Papa here with us for it.

After cleaning up, we went to the cabin the next day.  On Saturday we went out to eat at Tepanyaki, which the kids have begged for, for about a year.  So it was a great trip.  Life is good!
